Do you have a favorite rock and roll band either contemporary or vintage?
My choices are from the 60's and 70's...
Deep Purple
Ten Years After
Lynyrd Skynrd
ZZ Top
To name a few.
Not neccessarily in that order.

And Pink Floyd.
Do you consider Pink Floyd rock n roll? They're one of my favorite bands, especially the early stuff which is great to listen to when you're--well, we shall be mindful of the family nature of the forums. You know what I mean.

Better still--obscured by clouds. 8)
When you back is up against the wall and every mistake echos like the delicate sound of thunder, even a momentary lapse of reason can call to you like the piper at the gates of dawn. I may wish you were here to shine on the division bell but you may as well be on the dark side of the moon.
At such a time, the final cut can be summed up in one word, ummagumma.
peeyew! someone light a match! :?

Random word association
"Comfortably numb"
This phrase reminded me of Jackson Browne. I like his mellow/sleepy stuff.

How too cool for words. Were you at Woodstock?

You mean "THAT" concert where there was over a half-million people?
August 19, 1969 . . . God, I was 23 . . .
Traffic jams over 25 miles long . . .
Took over 8-hours to get out of the traffic jam . . .
And the price of the concert, which is unheard of today was $18 and this was a three-day event . . .
I wouldn't admit it if I did attend. Wouldn't want my kids to know!
Besides . . . I didn't inhale!!!!!!!!

Vince--if you're ever in Nashville, I definitely want to get together. Dinner, dancing, and I've got a friend at the university who can procure some great desserts....
BTW, Woodstock was almost held about two miles from where I grew up, but the Planning Board wouldn't approve it.

Nights in White Satin!
Oh yeah. Love that song. One of my favorite non-dance songs. I was going to post it in that other thread. LOL. Do you remember their revival during the eighties sometime? They made a full orchestral arrangement of Nights in White Satin, complete with a new music video. Yay! 8)
