"The truth of who you are rests between two very important moments: your first breath and your last breath. Somewhere between birth and death we work out the [reason] of our existence on this earth. We come to a sense of our identity. To humbly be in possession of ourselves is a grace."

Sr. Macrina Widerkehr, O.S.B.

I/ you could say the truth of who we are as dancers rests between two very important moments: our first and last dance. Somewhere in between we work out who we are as dancers and why we dance... Once we have a sense of dance identity, yet are humbly part of the music and partnership when we dance - three in one - we have reached true "dancing" grace...

What would you dance if you knew it was to be the last?

And if you could redo the first, what would it be?

My first was a swing dance. Actually trying to do ECS / jitterbug when everyone else was doing super fast cool lindy!! I would never want to redo my first, because that's what made it special. I wouldn't want it to be any different.

As for my last... Right now a bachata, with intrenational rhumba a second. A romantic latin dance. That's what I want!! With someone special too. That actually is more important. Having that danec nirvana.

What about you GR?

My first dance was a rumba. And for my last dance, I think I would want to dance it once more, with my first teacher.

Or maybe a bolero.
