What is the most beautiful thing you saw today?
If nothing comes to mind then keep an aye open for it tomorrow and everyday after that and report back here. ;)
Such miraculous things surround us... how often it seems that no one pays attention. Take a close look around.

I was walking to the parking lot after work with two of my co-workers when this very beautiful young woman walked by, and I looked her right in the eyes and gave her my best charming smile. She gave me one back that nearly made me lose my composure, and one of my co-workers looked at me and said "hey, that girl was smiling at you!"
I don't know why...but it certainly was wonderful, and it did make my day.

This morning I woke up, as usual, to two hyperactive Dalmatians play-fighting. (In my bed, of course, and tromping all over me in the process--I've got a plethora of bruises to prove it.) Their rather heated discussion was over just who gets to give me the coveted first lick of the day. (The "consolation prize" is getting to bathe one of my Cornies before he runs away screaming for help.)
Any creature that fights over getting to sniff my ghastly morning breath is absolutely, positvely, ravenously beautiful in my eyes.

Birds are cool indeed
Down here in Atllanta, I see lots of mockingbirds, bluejays, the occasional cardinal as well as hawks and the occasional turkey vulture. When I lived up in MA, I actually saw a few owls which was really cool.
I love the woods and vegetation down here too, dogwoods like mad and all kinds of regal looking trees.
I enjoy my housemates 2 cats Maynard (looks like a grey bear), and Beaumont (looks like a black panther). They're so much fun.

Agreed, I never get drunk before dancing. If I drink beer before dancing, it's always accompanying dinner. And its always just one or two beers. I don't want my partners to have to endure beer breath while dancing with me.

The wisteria is now in full bloom in my little corner of Japan. If you have never seen it, it grows on a trellis and hangs down, in elegant pale-purple and white clusters, the blossoms tapering off in size as the flowers grow longer. The fragrance is incredible- a perfumey-grape sort of aroma which fills the entire neighborhood. This is truly one of my favorite times in Japan, when the wisteria blossom. (BTW, my official married name, although I don't use it, is "Fujioka", which means "wisteria hill" in Japanese!)

How lucky! I don't have them because it's quite a chore to grow them well(in Japan, anyhow), but I am glad just to be able to smell the sweet fragrance as I cycle the neighborhoods that DO have them! Do you have a trellis?

My kitties get the run of my living/diningroom kitchen, bathroom & utility room. Cats tend to wake me up so I give them their own space, and I have mine! I used to sleep with cats but they'd bite me & wake me up at ungodly hours (FOOD, man, we need FOOD!!!) or stick their whiskers in my face or chew on my hair! A couple of months ago, I went up to Flagstaff with my sister. On the way back home that night, (Its about a 3 hour drive back to Phoenix), I decided to take a look up at the sky. I had never noticed before just how many stars are up there!! (With all the city lighting of Phoenix, you hardly see any stars.) I just had to pull over and gaze. They all looked like crystals. It was truly a beautiful sight. There were so many stars, I hardly saw any sky LOL!!
Man, I wish I could see that all the time...
Sagitta
11-27-2004, 05:11 PM
How often do we get to see the stars in the sky, indeed? Sort of how the everyday realities of life cloud over the crystals of our lives from our vision, how the pollution/smog contaminates our atmosphere. But, then we stop and take the time to look!! Wow! :o :D
Last night I watched some Red Wings play the US national team (average age of 18) for charity at the U of M ice rink. Great fun, sold out crowd, and the kids played with a lot of heart.
They even scored a couple of times!

What was the guy's NAME? Yul Brynner was definitely a hunk. Had the very good fortune of seeing him live in "The King & I" in San Francisco when I was in high school. There is nothing worse than a guy with a rug, except when the guy combs over the few remaining hairs to try & conceal the bald spot(thus creating a "bar code" look). Shave it ALL off, guys! I am just watching, with half an eye, the European Film Awards 2004. There was a presenter for one the awards - a young guy (early 30s?), bald but my goodness  what beautiful, smiling, expressive eyes! In my opinion, he makes Yul Brynar look like Frankenstein by comparison
What was the guy's NAME?
 Thank goodness for repeats! I didn't catch it last night, but the Awards are on again (repeat!) and the object of my affection is Jean-Marc Barr. (Sorry Bob  ) Naturally I had to google him  and I quote:
Jean-Marc Barr looks excellent for his age of 41. Having starred in The Big Blue and Europa, born from an American father and a French mother, he is a good friend of Lars von Trier, and even a godfather to his children. Barr was also named among the hundred sexiest actors in the history of cinematography by Empire magazine as early as 1995.
He apparently co-starred alongside Jean Reno in The Big Blue.
Oh and the fact that Jean-Marc Barr is Librian, has nothing to do with my rantings and ravings  I only discovered this during my research

Had to do a search to check out this guy! Although he's not my type, he's a hot-lookin' guy! Looks a tad older than 41 to me, though. (Could be the lack of hair)...Just goes to show you, guys can be sexy without hair!

Women don't hate baldness, they hate vanity!
And yet, the cosmetics industry makes billions

Perhaps. But I know some guys who were "sexy" with hair, started losing it or decided to go clean shaven and umm, well, how can I say this? Even the cats ran out the room

I was walking to the bus stop this morning. It was so warm that I had my winter coat open. A gray morning with a light snow falling. A feathery fluffy white coat cheerfully comforting and enveloping all. :D

I didn't see it, but I heard something great on Monday. A new lady came to a drop-in dance class that I was teaching. When I asked how she found out about it, she said that her co-worker Bob said she should take classes with me.
I know Bob a little, and he and his wife are good local swing dancers, but I had nothing to do with their training. I think they came to one free dance lesson where we covered merengue, which they say they use all the time when swing music isn't playing. I don't think he has much experience with my teaching style, though.
Anyway, the new lady said that Bob told her to take classes with me because "I've seen people who had no business even standing up become able to dance tolerably well after just one or two classes with Kevin."
The fact that someone I respect (but that I wasn't aware thought anything special about my teaching style) said this was really great. It made my day, obviously.

The dense white fog outside. And it is 11:43 AM EST!! A wonderful thing. I'm going to go out to the circ desk and soak the view in as I discharge books. :D

I was talking to someone I met recently and noticed he has such lovely eyes
What was different this time round? We were near a window and I could really see the colour of his eyes (my back was to the window).
For a change, I was all "thumbs" when trying to talk to him, If I was a cube of ice, I would have melted!
My one thought now? I am glad he does not dance. If I had difficulty talking to him, I would have been a total wreck trying to dance with him!

Another gorgeuos day and I'm stuck indoors today... :(
What an awesome thread! Thanks for "resurrecting" it Pacion.
Wouldn't it be a great habit to get into every day, to think back on something that was beautiful?
Many parts of my day were beautiful - walking through my childhood neighborhood in full bloom, seing my next-door neighbor's new grandkids, running in the woods, seeing my big sister in love - but the best was my mother teared up reading our Mother's Day cards!
Sometimes coming home can be great (well at least for a little while ;) )

Funny you mention this...
On Saturday, I was on a bus and there were two girls in the seats front of me. One of the girls was sitting facing back to talk to her friend, so I could see her face, and she had such strikingly beatiful eyes I couldn't take my eyes off her .
Hope she didn't think I was interested in her...

It's a lovely sunny day but I've got to get dressed now to go to the dreaded W.O.R.K.
Still, I've painted my nails bright blue and put silver glitter over the top. A bit juvenile for the office but if blue and silver can't cheer me up nothing will!
