View Full Version : Mapping of NDCA Appendix II to AMDS Syllabus
Just wondering if anyone knows where (other than asking a person at AMDS) I might find a mapping of patterns listed in Appendix II of the NDCA rulebook to figures in the AMDS syllabus? I had no luck searching Google or DF (though I may have searched badly)
Thanks in advance :)

Are you wanting to konw which patterns match (ie, just looking for patterns that are same, but have different names between AM and NDCA?)? There may not be exact match on all of the, hence the different syllabi. I know the FADS ones don't all match the NDCA, whatever the name. Partly because even when I'm not sure what NDCA one means, I KNOW some of FA steps (including at least one even in the lower social bronze syllabus), violate restrictions in the NDCA rules.
I'm wondering both which ones match, and what the NDCA patterns that aren't on the AMDS syllabus are (either with vids or descriptions). It's the same with AMDS - of the patterns I recognize, it looks like some AMDS low bronze patterns are NDCA silver, and some AMDS silver patterns might be NDCA bronze.
This is because I'm planning to enter an NDCA-sanctioned competition, and I want to be sure that I'm within the rules :)

Gotcha. Figured that's what you meant, but wasn't sure.
Hopefully someone here will be able to help, i'm more of a help on FADS stuff. And yeah, like you, found some stuff that matched, and some stuff that definitely didn't on our syllabi.
etp, would you mind listing the FADS stuff - it might be nice to get all possile mappings on a single thread. And FADS might use names I recognize :)

rather than worry about what is listed in the FADS or the AM, why not get what is acceptable from the NDCA?

Fasc, based on way it is phrased (and my own similar experience), I'd suggest ATK tried that, and realized he didn't know steps by names in NDCA syllabus, isntead knows names used at his franchise. So he's looking for some translation so that he CAN work with the NDCA syllabus, just needs translation into step names that he knows. I know I've struggled with that a bit myself. Course, could ask pro for help, but I'm stubborn and try to figure things out myself. :)

when I get a moment I will list the NDCA element list and I will translate each pattern into as many different names as I can, trying to universalize it. But right now I am on a plane Typing on my phone ... Far too tedious.
etp nailed it.
Larinda, to get things started, I'll write up the NDCA list, as shown in appendix II.
Thanks!

Ah. As have we all. Thanks for the clarification. Perfectly legit question/concern.
