The salsa or hustle or whatever was well, ok.
The Rockettes, well, this is probably blasphemy, but if I want to see girls that can kick, well, I'm going for the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.
The Jennifer Hudson song- It was nice dancing overall, but Julianne on the judges' table was just a bit too strippery for my taste.

Safe:
Warren
Toni

"Granted the narrowest reprieve" is Rocco
Blahblahblah so Lance was safe, Rocco is safe thanks to a torn Achilles tendon, and I nearly had a heart attack from all the drama. Thank goodness Tom and Samantha warned me about the drama, or the surprise of all the drama would have killed me!

I seriously wonder if the producers took a nap instead of putting any forethought into tonight's results show...it was basically a "Let's see how far we can carry on this whole injury drama" episode. Royal snooze  I agree with whoever mentioned earlier that the show was really milking this whole thing for all it was worth...shame on you, DWTS producers!

First, the non-event of the evening - no one is going home. Duh. Saw that one coming a mile away, then heard it confirmed on Extra, so there was really no point in attempting to make announcing the safe couples suspenseful or acting like the whole thing was a surprise. In fact, it was kind of an insult. Mildly shocking, though - Rocco and Karina pulled the lowest number of votes. Guess that goes to show America would rather watch wanton buffoonery and the exploitation of the elderly than a likeable world-class chef who's putting forth an honest effort.

Guest performances - who were the mediocre dancers performing along with Kool & the Gang? Were they even formally announced? Do I really care? Not really, as I didn't find them very entertaining or skilled. Kool & the Gang were okay, I guess...as okay as someone can be when being backed by the DWTS band. Rockettes - way disappointing for me. Was hoping to see a lot more of the show-stopping choreography and kick lines that made me so envious as a teenager, but it just wasn't there. It looked like they took one of their big numbers and cut out all the exciting parts, leaving behind the cheesy filler choreo. Loved Jennifer Hudson - I have been rocking this song on my iPod for about a month now, so I was a little leery of a supposed "remix" of it, but I actually liked it. Julianne & Derek were a treat as always, with their signature lightening-fast turns and acrobatics. Now that Edyta is out, it looks like Julianne has taken up the role of resident scantily-clad hottie...etp, I bet you were drooling! ;) Glad to see the tacky wig from last night was gone *phew*

Enjoyed the would-have-been Maks & Misty jive performed by Maks & Edyta - this is another song I was hoping was going to be used on the show this season, and I know Misty would have been a total babe in that schoolgirl uniform (although Edyta of course rocked it well!). Couldn't stop laughing at Maks in waiting-for-the-floods overalls. It was nice to see him a bit out of his element, wardrobe-wise. Maks & Edyta's technique just reinforced the point for me that pros can make even the most basic figures look phenomenal.

Tonight also seemed to be the night of strange hair again...Samantha's was pulled up into a strange, serpentine, too-heavy-for-her-delicate-frame updo, and Carrie-Ann had a ginormous feather in hers. Hmmm.

Word of the Evening: "Cloreography" - [klawr-ee-og-ruh-fee] n. 1. the art of composing a dance piece based primarily upon smut comedy and the exploitation of geriatric women. The couple resorted to Cloreography in their jive in order to get attention.

Did you notice...?

*Derek prematurely dropping Julianne out of the floor sweep in their cha-cha, resulting in an audible "thud"?

*Cloris' confused, out-of-left-field anecdote about blue-eyed blondes vs. brown-eyed brunettes which left even Tom Bergeron going "Huh?"

*Warren exclaiming "We're going to the Sizzler!" after finding out he was safe?

*Jennifer Hudson's gigantic engagement ring, courtesy of one of the former contestants on I Love New York 2? (glad to see his taste in women has improved!)

I rewound this a few times....

That and the jive was well, Maks and Edyta really looked like they were having fun.... made me want to learn the jive.

Why Dancing with the Stars has not eliminated Cloris Leachman? It is a joke, she is not a dancer at all... funny stuff does not make a dancer.
I am turning the show off and can only watch it for a few minutes before I can't stand myself for watching Cloris Leachman doing her "funny?" stuff. Please, stop supporting her.
