I have to ask this question here since I've never experience this - sort of trouble.

Ordered a pair of Stephanie shoes but unfortunately too tight, so need to return. I returned with post office priority mail with delivery confirmation.

On line tracking system now showing post office dropped notice twice on Oct 2 and Oct 4, both during business hours. But no one was there to accept package:(

I called Stephanie, they said Delivery confirmation requires a signature, and usually there is no one there at the warehouse location to sign for receipt of package.

The worst thing is they didn't even receive the notice post office dropped them, so there is no way they can pick it up from post office.

They apologized for this inconvenience and saying the shoes will be back to me:( They suggested me to re-send it WITHOUT DELIVERY CONFIRMATION. They will credit me the amount of 2nd shipping.

I'm just NOT comfortable of sending things without delivery confirmation; since I've been told by post office that no way I can track a package without purchasing delivery confirmation.

Is there anyway I can ensure tracking but WITHOUT BOTHERING the recipient to sign for the package?

Try UPS.

Not sure about USPS, but fedex will let you send with tracking and choose option of "Do not rrequire signature at receving site" or something along those lines.

Delivery confirmation does not require a signature.

Do you remember if the USPS affixed a white label with bright green lettering to the box? Or, did you request signature confirmation, or purchase additional insurance for the package?

FedEx is the way to go. You get tracking and delivery confirmation online without requiring a signature.

I thought so too, but the mail man at office also told me Delivery confirmation requires a signature.

I did not request signature confirmtion, but for delivery confirm I had to fill out a bright green/white label, post office affixed it to box and tear off the top part to me. I've been told by post office that without this label, can't track online.

This happened to me once. I had to mail a check that was a considerable amount so I sent it, certified, no signature required. The post office kept leaving notices to the recipient that they needed a signature. It was very frustrating. I ended up sending another check regular mail and it arrived safely. The other check was returned to me by the post office.

I would recommend ups and fed ex. Fed ex has the option for either signature required or not.

ok learned something about post office service - not very efficient. It is definitely frustrating. Also don't like the long line there.

HKK, how long did you wait until post office sent that certified check back? I just concerned Stephanie's return policy is 14 days, I hope won't miss it although I do have the first certified mail receipt that I sent within 2 days received shoes.
