SG got me thinking about his when his asked if Peach was really a color. :P Remember when you just had Eight Colors in your crayon box in grammer school? Now we have colors like:

Asparagus
Peach
Lemon-Lime

How many unusual colors can you and immediatly know what they are?

Hey, it's 1:20am and I can't sleep so I gotta do something to keep myself amused.

 Can you draw a perfect circle freehand as yet?

(The "story" goes that anyone who can draw a perfect circle without the aid of any instruments is a few sandwiches short of a picnic :? )

Oh, and in answer to your question :nope: Anything beyond "apple white" which is supposed to be a variation on white with a hint of green but to me, looks like a pale green  is a waste of time :D

The one that always gets me is Sepia...which is actually the Latin name of the Cuttlefish, a color changing Cephalopod (Octopus/Squid relative). Kind of hard to pin down a specific color to something that can change it at will.

Hmm, Chartruse (sp?) comes to mind...have no idea what the color is...

Burnt Sienna...yeah that's a good one. When I used to be an amateur painter I learned just how many colors of white there were...Ivory, Off-White...then colors like Camel...

Actually, the best is the official color of my car from the dealership..."Frosted Mint"! I still think it sounds like ice cream. :P

Hmm...that's twice I've mentioned ice cream in my last two posts...ok....I think its time for a bowl! ;)

If we're going paint colours, I have one room painted "Lady Fern" green, one "Burnside" mustardy yellow and my favourite is my bedroom "Artiste" purple!

Fuchsia -- there is (was?) a British TV programme in which this colour is mentioned every week. And I thought fuchsia had bi-coloured flowers... :?

then colors like Camel...
Has anyone noticed that Camel and Caramel are quite similar colours?

Sky blue.
I'm from the UK, I usually only ever saw grey.

I heard they've changed the colors recently. Back when I used to be into crayons, the ones that used to get me were red-orange/orange-red. And then there was the illustrious blue-green and green-blue. Not imaginative at all.

I'll have to go buy some new crayons. Now I'm wondering.

for years, I lived within a twnty minute drive of the Crayola world headquarters (it's in Easton, Pennsylvania). I really wish I'd taken the tour. From what I hear, it was amazing. And they give out free crayon samples. 8)

So do you know where the name `puce' comes from? ie what is puce the colour of?

Cheers

Buttercream. For some reason, all I can think of is icing on a cake. :P
