View Full Version : DWTS7 Week 4 - Who is gonna get the boot?

Rocco & Karina would have gone home last week, but were granted a reprieve by Misty's withdrawal. Cloris & Corky continue to be the low scorers each week, but seem to be hanging on based on their popularity with viewers. Brooke & Derek continue to come out on top with the judges, with Warren & Kym not far behind. The rest round out the middle of the pack - Susan continues to struggle with her timidness, Cody's energy still seems to overwhelm his technique at times, Toni's overly ambitious Viennese waltz left a bad taste in the judges' mouths last week, Maurice's technique is still iffy, & Lance & Lacey are still trying to strike a balance between being original and adhering to the rules. Who's number is up this week as they tackle either the tango or the samba? Vote now or vote later - the choice is yours. Just remember - as we've seen so far, it's not always the worst performance or lowest score that gets sent home!

Samba or tango.

My heart wants it to be Clorky. My head says Rocco and Karina.

Unfortunately I think Cloris might be able to play the entertainment for one more week with the Tango. Rocco has the samba coming up, he'll need a decent score to avoid the elimination.

Ditto your sentiments. However, Rocco fans could rally this week, especially after finding out he was at the bottom of the heap last week. Plus, he seems to do a bit better at the Latin dances - his mambo & rumba were better than his foxtrot and Viennese. He could do alright in the samba this week.
Found another Tonya Plank article on Karina and Rocco. Found the observation about where Karina seems to trust Rocco to support her while dancing interesting.

Last night Rocco and Karina were almost booted from the show, saved only by the horrid injury of Misty May-Treanor, who had to leave of necessity. If they again receive the lowest votes next week, next week will be their last. And yet he's not a bad dancer. He's actually a very good partner. In their rumba last week, Karina danced just like she danced with her former professional partner, Slavik Kryklyvyy. Which means she trusts him to support her properly, to be so focused on her so as to be there for her always, to act as the frame holding the picture rather than the other way around (as with so many male dancers these days, who fancy themselves both picture and the frame).
Apparently the producers want to keep Rocco in, otherwise they wouldn't have revealed the "loser" for last week. At this point, don't care who stays or goes. My prediction is, Cody will win, because nobody can beat the power of tween girls combined with perv guys, all who will vote for Cody and Julianne.

I hope that Cloris goes home.
Interestingly, I was visiting family last week and all the 70 and 80 year olds I talked to (parents and their friends) are avid watchers and also think Cloris should go home. Unfortunately, I don't think any of them vote.

I've been saying this for awhile - Rocco & Karina got somethin' goin' on :raisebro: She definitely trusts him...

All of my votes went to Rocco. He's just adorable, and he *is* trying. He's got the showmanship thing down, that's for sure, and not in a way that tries to cover up for his shortcomings *cough*Clorky*cough*. Susan Lucci was scored too high. That performance was too cold and stiff. She doesn't seem to have the confidence to really let it rip.

Cloris should probably go home, I just hate to see Corky leave.
And I know I'm not only one who votes by the pros instead of the stars. :)

The fact that Cloris at 82 yo is still in a DANCE competition is absolutely ridiculous. She's not out there dancing, she's mugging, walking and clowning through routines while the other dancers are killing themselves working on hard routines. http://www.dance-forums.com/images/icons/icon8.gif Not to say that she's not working hard, and her Tango was not as terrible as all her other routines, but come on! It's not fair to the other dancers who have actual content in their dances, plus it's not fair to the fans who want to see actual dancing. http://www.dance-forums.com/images/icons/icon9.gif
I have to say that I have no idea who is keeping her in. My parents (80's) think she's awful but don't vote. I think Cloris is a wonderful actress & entertainer, but this is supposed to be a dance show.
Which means, that the show should reduce the fan vote to 1 judge, instead of 1/2 the total votes. That way it wouldn't be popularity contest like it is now. http://www.dance-forums.com/images/icons/icon8.gif

Because to throw someone off the show because they are 82 years old is Agist--and illegal and immoral and rude.
Enough people believed in her to actually put her on the show and enough people believe in her to keep her there.
I long ago gave up expecting competitive dancing on DWTS, it's a dog and pony show. It is not a true ballroom competition, in true competitions beginners don't get to dance open routines after 8 weeks of training. If I want to see a dancing competition I go to a ballroom competition.
