Based on the characters we have here at DF (Sabor! ) if you had to assign/match a song to a person's persona, what would you match them up with and dare enquiring minds ask why  ?

Does it have to be a dance song?

Christina75--"Peanuts Theme Song" by Vince Guaraldi--but that's too easy; her avatar is a dead give away!
TemptressToo--"I Got It Bad (And That Ain't Good)" (tough vulnerability)
Salsachinita--"La Bamba" (it's just an image I get)
Scorp--"Bohemian Rhapsody" (because of his need to bust out)
Pygmalion--"Rhapsody in Blue" or "Come Sunday" (haven't decided, but it has to be something rich, classic, and fundamental)
SDsalsaguy--"Purple People Eater" (do I really need to explain?)
Pacion--"La gloria eres tu" (because of her romantic soul)
The others I still have to think about.

I LOVE THAT SONG! :D It makes me wish I could play the piano. It's a great "hop around the house where nobody can see you" song.

 no I don't. I have a whole list of CD's I intend to buy "one day". Guaraldi is on the list.
I have a second job where I work part time in a department store. During the Christmas season, "Linus and Lucy" was on frequent rotation on the store's radio station.
"Linus and Lucy" is actually the song I was thinking of when I mentioned hopping around the house. :)

Well, the song that pretty much matches with me:
I Ain't Got Nobody (Just a Gigolo) ;)
While I guess I grew up with the David Lee Roth version, I wouldn't mind the more classic rendition by Louis Prima (if there wasn't someone before him).
Decent slow swing. Could west-coast to it.
P.S. A couple of friends of mine attended a wedding this past weekend. Apparently the couple was introduced to the melodic dulcet tones of...
She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy by Tim McGraw

That's always my big number at karaoke! And yes, Prima created the medley, as far as I know. But who knows, he was so steeped in the New Orleans scene that anyone could have been putting those numbers together. 8)

My Spanish isn't really good enough for me to know lyrics, but a couple of songs have been dedicated to me by DJs: "Los Ojitos Chinos" by El Gran Combo & "Lady" by Los Palabras.
I personally like "Vivir Lo Nuestro" by Marc Anthony & La India 8) .

Lady Lyrics
(Lionel Richie Jr.)
Lady, I'm your knight in shining armor and I love you
You have made me what I am and I am yours
My love, there's so many ways I want to say I love you
Let me hold you in my arms forever more
You have gone and made me such a fool
I'm so lost in your love
And oh, we belong together
Won't you believe in my song?
Lady, for so many years I thought I'd never find you
You have come into my life and made me whole
Forever let me wake to see you each and every morning
Let me hear you whisper softly in my ear
In my eyes I see no one else but you
There's no other love like our love
And yes, oh yes, I'll always want you near me
I've waited for you for so long
Lady, your love's the only love I need
And beside me is where I want you to be
'Cause, my love, there's somethin' I want you to know
You're the love of my life, you're my lady!

By the way, these are my lyrics (much as I can't stand Diana Ross, this song strikes a chord in my life, just now.)
It's My Turn
Diana Ross
I can't cover up my feelings
In the name of love
Or play it safe
For a while that was easy
And if living for myself
Is what I'm guilty of
Go on and sentence me
I'll still be free
It's my turn
To see what I can see
I hope you'll understand
This time's just for me
Because it's my turn
With no apologies
I've given up the truth
To those I've tried to please
But now it's my turn
If I don't have all the answers
At least I know I'll take my share of chances
Ain't no use of holding of
When nothing stays the same
So I'll let it rain
'Cause the rain ain't gonna hurt me
And I'll let you go
'Though I know it won't be easy
It's my turn
With no more room for lies
For years I'd seen my life
Through someone else's eyes
And now it's my turn
To try and find my way
And if I should get lost
At least I'll own today
It's my turn
Yes, it's my turn
And there ain't no use in holding of
When nothing stays the same
So I'll let it rain
'Cause the rain ain't gonna hurt me
And I'll let you go
'Though I know it won't be easy
It's my turn
To see what I can see
I hope you'll understand
This time's just for me
Because it's my turn
To turn and say goodbye
I sure would like to know
That you're still on my side
Because it's my turn
It's my turn
It's my turn
To start from number one
Trying to undo
Some damage that's been done
But now it's my turn
To reach and touch the sky
No one's gonna say
At least I didn't try
It's my turn
Yes, it's my turn
It's my turn
It's my turn
It's my turn
Don't ask. :?

I'm still trying to find one that fits GR . . .
He "wows" all the women here on the DFs . . .
He is an actor . . .
He is a dancer . . .
His avatar makes him out to be a "real cool" guy . . .
The very first song that popped into my head . . .
He is definitely one of those "Nashville Cats" by the Lovin Spoonful!
We seem to have left Miss Pacion out of the topic! How about:
"Lady" by Orchestra Palabra (mostly since she's fond of the song) or possibly something by Victor Manuelle

Sorry I've missed all the fun, guys--thank you for your generous suggestions. Left to pick for myself, I'd go with "Only the Good Die Young," but Christina's "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant" fits me pretty well. I'm curious about "Mr. Roboto" now. And I'm wondering why Christina says "Hot for Teacher"?
Vince--my avatar is meant to suggest underachieving wisecracker, and I'm not sure that I've ever "wowed" any women in ways that I would like. But I definitely dance and act.
And yes, I at least suggested one for Pacion--"La gloria eres tu." I've not come up with stuff for ShyDancer or dancin_feet or Sagitta or etchuck. Any ideas?
