Ok I just want some clarification here!

I was briefly shown a cuban break in Cha Cha last night, by a teacher (I refer loosely to "teacher" .. see the topic bad teachers in general dance discussion) Right now Im not sure if it is even a step because of him :?

It is a cross in front right?

And the timing is the 4 & 1 (or cha cha cha) like the 3 cha cha chas?

Yes, this is a real step ShyDancer. Cuban breaks can be done either as forward or back breaks, and the timing is beat-and-beat, often on 4&1, but can also be danced on 2&3 (as in 2&3 with one leg followed by 4&1 on the other).

You always have an answer for me SD

The 2 & 3 is what I was trying to get across when saying like the 3 cha cha chas.... I was referring to the backwards and forwards walks. My teacher actually counts it out a s 4 & 1 , 2 & 3 ,4 & 1 ..dont know why I didnt think to explain myself that way

But Thanks!!

Always happy to help! :D

(...and given your other post about "teaching" I can understand your hesitation too!)
