So for my showcase I'll be probably doing a waltz. I love my waltz on a faster side. Needless to say I can't wait to start learning the V.Waltz!! But for now it's the 'slower' waltz... I have listened to tons of various waltzes to pick a piece for the show, but wanted to hear from you which ones on the faster side are your favorite. I am just overwhelmed by choices...
Thanks!
Ela
"Atlantia," Secret Garden's Songs from a Secret Garden - 33mpm
"If It's Over," Mariah Carey's Emotions - 32mpm
Unfortunately I don't have too many waltzes faster than 30mpm that are more fast waltz than slow Viennese waltz. Good luck!

THANK YOU for such fast response... They're a little too slow for me but I will add them to my playlist and keep searching.
Hmm, try "Once Upon a December" from Anastasia. There are a few versions, and I think all of them are more or less smack dab between waltz and v.waltz tempo. I have to run now, but I'll see if I can dig anything up later.

"The Lovers' Waltz" by Jay Ungar and Molly Mason
"Lucky" by Bif Naked
"Strawberry Wine" by Deanna Carter
"Not What You See" by Savatage
"Rock and Roll Waltz" by Kay Starr
"Song for the Mira" by Anne Murray
Remember, of course, that you can take any slower waltz and simply speed it up.

Kanela: I'm curious. Are you doing American style or International style?

I am pretty sure it's American... I'll check tonight with my instructor...

Can't you speed them up a little? There are music programs which can adjust tempo. If it's within 10% range, I think the result should be OK.

Audacity is a good free one.
The song from the Don Juan DeMarco soundtrack...Bryan Adams, "Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman" or something to that effect.
