Heads Up - CSB!

Hey everybody!

I was reading a different post and saw some people talking about comps they planned to attend, and I just wanted to take a second to suggest that you try to make the Colorado Star Ball in Denver, June 17-20th.

I know the Yankee Classic is that weekend, too - but CSB is an excellently run, friendly mid-sized comp - almost every event is contested, there are always spectators in the ballroom, and yet the atmosphere is really supportive and welcoming.

Thanks delamusica!! Keep that stuff coming and I might be doing comps etc in no time. I never thought I would want to go to salsa congresses, do performances, but with so much talk here I'm really getting into these. Who knows at this rate events such as these probably wil be next?

I was at this event a couple of years ago and I was really, really impressed. I think that too many comps try to follow the model of the big comps, even when they're not. This event seemd, for lack of a better term, comfortable in it's own skin. It is not one of the big comps but it didn't seem to feel like it was trying to be (a nice change!). I felt that the Booths did an excellent job of providing an event with its own personality and I recall it as having a very social/freindly atmosphere as well.


P.S. Don't forget that the newly renamed and rescheduled San Diego DanceSport Champioship is here, in sunny SoCal, the weekend before! 8)
