My daughter used to make me birthday cards. Not because she was particularly artistic, but because the ones you could get at the store back in the "olden days" were not direct enough about how old the recipient was. Nowdays I get "bought" cards that tell me, in so many words, that I am old as dirt, possibly older.

Then again, I get to spoil my granddaughter, so I don't feel like I get the short end of the stick.

I dance with EVERYONE, most of them at my studio older than me. Can't help that the young pretty ones are a subset of that group. ;)
