We've been getting a lot of inquiries about Steppin at our studio lately. I guess it's also referred to as Chicago Steppin, and I believe it is similar to ECS. I was wondering why so many people were asking about it, and then I saw the video. Could this be a trend? As a dance professionsal, do I need to learn so that I will be prepared to teach it? Have you seen any other videos with Steppin lately?

Ok, this might sound really dumb, but what's steppin? A swing derivative, I'm guessing?

Its like East Coast only so far as they both use a six count basic... it is much more closely related to boppin' or carolina shag in its classic form. The free style form is more like hand dancing (the old school style, not the smooth and ez style).
