Ok, I just recently bought this:

Canon Powershot A80 (http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/canon/powershot_a80-review/index.shtml)

Any have any advice or recommendations? Stories? Experiences?

I want to buy a memory card for it. Are there limitations that I need to be aware of? Compatability problems?

Good choice. I have the S400 and I love it. Besure to get a bigger memory card because 32 isn't going to be nearly enough. If you want to take lots of pictures rapidly then you should get the faster compact flash cards but if you don't plan on taking multiple shots or really high def. pics you will be fine with just the regular CF cards.

So how many photos can you typically fit onto a 512 Mbyte card?

Office Depot is selling one for about $100.

Wow, that's A LOT!
I get about 90 pics @ 1600 X 1200 (superfine) so times that by 4 is about 360!!! Try getting a 2nd battery on Ebay. About 10 bucks. Don't buy the Canon brand. ($50) Not worth the price.

You should check that out. 512 megs for 64.99 after rebate.

Ok, thanks!

Actually, buy.com is out of stock, but I found another place after doing a search.

Thanks again for the help!

tj you bringing your new toy to CO?

But of course!

What *finally* pushed me to decide to buy one is that I went dancing in Portland a little over a week ago with some friends - and it's a pain in the butt to share pictures (I think I'll use Ofoto).

With a digital camera, it's pretty easy.
