I've seen a marked increase in dance video clips on the net. At least this is the case for my favourite dance, the Lindy Hop.

What I would like to see good clips from other types of dance too. So here's everybodys chance to promote their favourite dance/style by submitting a link to their favourite video clip:

I'll start. Here's Kevin and Carla doing the Lindy Hop. (http://www.kevinandcarla.com/videos/kc_barswingona_2003.avi) (You need to install DivX (http://download.divx.com/divx/DivX511.exe) if you don't already have it.

This is not my fav clip with Kevin and Carla (The one to love me or leave me). That clip is allswing.org, but you need to register to download videos.

There are two side-by-side on http://www.dcswingdancing.com site. One is Haley & Cameron and the one next to it, Sandy & Craig. They're on the 4th row down under CCB Jam, April 9. I think I just like the personalities over their chops or their technique.

There are lots of good salsa clips here. (www.salsamafia.com)

I particularly like this instructor, Gallito (see this.)

(Standard disclaimer of how connection, fundamentals, enjoyment, etc are more important than sheer number of moves still applies...)

I've never tried Salsa, can't stand the music :P

But looking at a couple of the clips I see both familiar moves from Lindy Hop (i.e the swingout), and I can see there's a lot of connection going on. In other word, if I could learn to like the music, I could probably learn to like Salsa too.

IMHO, if you don't like the music initially, you probably won't learn to like it at a later date. Plus with all the possible choices of different types of dance/music, if you've made up your mind about one type, why waste time "trying" to see if you've changed your mind? To each their own.

Re:Lindy
I've heard lots of references about how salsa has taken "X" move from "Y" style - personally, I find this to be a strength of salsa, in that it has influences from lots of different styles and backgrounds. The pro being that it's street so you can do whatever. The con being that poor technique is common.
