Are they using the same photographer as last year's? If so, can anyone recall the link?

I keep wandering why there are no seniors at that event? The organizer do not offer that, or the seniors ignore this comp?

My husband (and partner) and I would like nothing more than to dance the senior event at that competition - and I know that there are a few other senior couples that used to go to that event as well, but the comp stopped offering senior events - likely due to relatively poor attendance. However, I do think that a comp of a national calibre should offer senior events, even if the attendance is low.

And WOW, that is a GREAT result for Andrei and Kate!
I've seen Kate with her new partner twice within the past month, both at Eastern Dancesport Championships and at Southeastern USA Dance Championships. I believe that they both were just getting over illnesses, and at neither comp did they make the final. What a difference a couple weeks makes! They must be thrilled.

Thanks all Dfers kind words and your support. It's been a nice comp, we got used to this floor (short side wide and long side bit short) this year...
Glad finally met Stargazer in person; thanks Ira/Abby kindly invited us and some friends to their beautiful house near mountain, and treated us with pizza and drinks, really nice, especially after finished comp so late when most of the restaurant closed in Utah.

I haven't seen any photographers there, last year photographer "legacy studio"? can't remember exactly the link. Maybe someone else could help?

I lookeed at their site and they had a notice that due to economy etc they will not be shooting nationals as its not economically efficient to bring crew to the comp.. so no official photographer i guess..

It was good to meet you Standarddancer and all. I wasn't expecting the kids to bring half the final home with them or I probably would not have changed into my PJs. It was nice to fall asleep to the sounds of everyone having a good time.
I'm still wondering how the puppy got covered with pink lipstick???

Thanks Star_gazer. I found 2 photos of myself. Abby's purple dress looks very nice on photo, interesting also seen Abby last year's dress there. I also like Samantha's bright blue dress (espeically skirt), but kat says it's for petite person, not really for me:(

I missed your post. Yes, great pics! Although, I was hoping for more latin pics.....
I'll have to search for last year's photographer... whoever it was, was fabulous. He/she took pics of every action of every couple.

Here's the thread, but no one put in Smooth results.

I just checked Dancebeat and they don't have any discussion of Open Smooth either. The write-up is entirely about international style events, junior, youth, and adult.
For results, go to: http://www.byunationals.com/index.cfm/showsection/registration_policies/page.htm
Detailed judges marks show numbers, correlate and . . . (barring a mistake) I made it as far as the man's name due to listing the numbers.
1. Travis Tuft
2. Brock Haymond
3. Ivan Spasov
4. Nels Petersen (Theresa Kimler)
5. Nathan Cashion
6. Jericho Dow

I heard they will add Senior events at 2013 NDCA Nationals. Is this true?

Just to clarify:
In Provo next year at the US Amateur Nationals, the NDCA is planning to give out at least $36,000 in sponsorship money so that the top two couples in each of the following 9 age divisions (ballroom and latin) will receive $1000 per couple to assist with travel expenses to the 2013 World Amateur Championships in Paris. The age divisions are Pre teen 1, Pre teen 2, Junior 1, Junior 2, Youth 16-18, Youth Under-21, Adult, Senior 1 over 35 and Senior 2 over 45.
