Nubuck

My latin shoes are begining to die on me and it is about time to replace them. In standard you have leather and patent leather shoes and I (think I) know the pros and cons there. In latin there are typically leather and nubuck. I was wondering what are the advantages/disadvantages to nubuck (as a practice shoe and a competition shoe)?

As a practice shoe, black nubuck shows scuffs very easily. I have black nubuck heels and flats and neither of them look very "fresh" anymore.

Agreed. Used to have a pair of Nubuck shoes myself and cannot see any advantage to them at all.

love nubuck. just go through them like crazy due to wear

Nubuck is softer and has more give than leather. It does scuff quite easily but it can be cleaned. You have to really stay on top of it though.
