Favorite Beverage:
non-alcoholic -- diet vanilla coke
alcoholic -- gourmet fruity girly martinis
Favorite Food:
It used to be macaroni and cheese, but nowadays I'm not really sure. I like pretty much everything, and particularly enjoy traveling to other countries and learning how to cook some of the local dishes. The highlight of this for me was having a Burmese housewife teach me how to make a green bean/peanut salad in Bagan.
Hobby/Interest (other then dancing):
Travelling, learning to read/write/speak Mandarin
Ice Cream:
I'm allergic to dairy, so I'm not really allowed to have a favorite, but if I had to cheat I'd go for macapuno (baby coconut) from Mitchell's in San Francisco.
Vacation Spot:
Relaxing vacation: on board the Celebrity "Century," and camping in the Oregon's Umpqua National Forest with friends.
Active vacation: travelling in Asia, and roaming places like Death Valley

Dr. Pepper with peanuts?
Is that a Bama thing?
I think it's a southern thing, an older southern thing because the only people I know who do it are my parents age or older. Most people use Coke, but my Mom always put peanuts in her Dr Pepper and that's where I learned it. You have to drink it relatively fast or the peanuts swell up.

Mambo_munkey-
Hawaii is all everyone says about it, if ya stay away from Honolulu. There are more Jpaanese tourists than Americans(which is fine for the Japanese, because they can speak their own language!) and, if you happen to be AMerican, the chances of running into someone you know is pretty high!
I spent a week on the big island- very rugged and if you want to snorkel you'll have to jump from volcanic rock formations! Volcanoes national Park is a trip and you can actually see lava flowing once the sun goes down! There was a white sand beach(incredibly hot sand!) and when snorkeling there, I encountered a giant sea turtle! There is also a black sand beach and switchback trails for hiking. Great if you love nature. Also spent a week in Kauai which is a lush, jungle island(and is purported to be the wettest spot in the United States). Great snorkeling and lovely beaches. Lots of rain, so the trails we were going to hike got too muddy to brave. I'll go to Maui next September for more of the above. Also some great restaurants on the islands and places to dance as well!

Sounds like a fun trip! I would love to go travelling down there one day! I'm a big fan of snorkeling. I knew someone who once lived on the island of Oahu. Have you ever been there? Yes, things are pricier than the mainland, but still cheaper than Japan! No, I am not interested in visiting Oahu as it is too touristy for me, but I have relatives that have condos there & say it's beautiful. The secluded spots on Kauai & Hawaii(the big isalnd) were truly fantastic for snorkeling. We also saw some whales & flying fish in Kauai.

I too have friends cocodrilo that have been to japan on foreign exchange student programs. They tell me its beautiful there. One particular friend of mine told me what he liked best over there was the security. That he had felt safe walking around in the middle of the night because there isnt a fear of being approached like there is here in the states. Is that true?

Um,...Things are changing. Granted you may leave your bag of groceries sitting in your bicycle basket and come out of the department store an hour later and still find it there, but I have been groped on trains and attacked by men on several occasions. Heinous crimes by juveniles are also on the increase. Big cities in any country have their danger zones and anywhere you go, though, you have to exercise common sense.

Never had lemon squash before, what's it like? Speaking of creamy pasta, I had this one dinner at an Italina place around here, alittle ways back now, that had linguine, creamy cheese, and bacon. It was so yummy! I like shopping, too. Oooh! What is "magic chocolate topping"? Have you been beach or bush walking recently?
I'm not sure of the brands you guys have, but lemon squash is like Solo or Lift?
Ice magic chocolate topping is basically a topping that you put on icecream and within a couple of minutes the cold of the icecream makes it go hard! Like eating a block of chocolate on icecream.
Haven't been away for a while. Trying to get some time off work over Christmas so I can take a bit of a break. Though since it is only a new job I don't want to push too hard. But I would really like a break ...... :)

I know that I can melt chocolate and do it, but that is a little too much work for me.

Hmmm ... haven't heard of these either. :?

Does the chocolate solidify thinly ot thickly? We have Dairy Queens in the States, and they have a soft topping of chocolate that hardens into a harder covering over their soft serve ice cream. And I believe they have butterscotch and strawberry coatings, too! :D

It depends on how hot the topping is to begin with. If it's a hot day it tends to be runnier and solidifies thinner. Nothing wrong with applying a second coat, though!!

Yep, this sounds very similar to Dairy Queen's coatings.

I worked there when I was 14. There was a little vat of hot chocolate-like substance and I had to skillfully turn over the cone and dunk it in. Fortunately, I never lost one in the vat. During my breaks, I used to woof vanilla soft ice cream with heaps of that crunchy chocolate coating on top!
