I just got this CD, "Putumayo Presents Cuba", which I really like, and have discovered a song that is ideal for me to practice my rueda calls to until I get the hang of making calls at the right time and doing my moves. No 5, by Orquesta Sublime, called "Sabroso como el Guarapo", somehow works for me. Just thought that I would share.

By the way, the first song on that CD, "compositor conjundido" by Ibrahim Ferrer, is the one that my rueda group is doing it's rueda performance to. The song increases tempo as the song progresses, making for a natural escalation in the performance to the climax.

Eddie Santiago - "Lluvia" is a great slow song for practicing on2. La clave is very pronounced during the song.

Cool!! I've been trying out dancing on2 by myself recently and so that's good to know. One of these days it will come out on the dance floor. I normally dance on1, but dance on3 when doing rueda and with those whom I know prefer it.

Hmmm... slow songs to practice to...
I was thinking Victor Manuelle, but it's too syncopated... too many breaks and accents...
Maybe anything by Eddie Santiago (I don't like him much, but...). Tony Vega is also slow... and much better than Eddie...
I'll think about it and write some more...
