I had a humorous realization last night. Whenever I step foot in a club I feel like I'm no longer just Rob. It's like when I get dressed to go out I turn into someone more powerful. I don't know, maybe I'm delirious from hunger right now, but when I hit the dance floor I feel almost...super? Does anyone relate or have I totally lost it? :lol:

And btw speaking of super, I danced with the best salsera in my scene last night (in my opinion anyway) and it was HOT! Luckily for me I was at the top of my game! :banana:

I don't know about feeling super powerful myself, but I do feel a sense of change when I go out to dance. It allows more of my personality and expressive side to come out for sure. Of course, how can you not feel excited when you are surrounded by loud music and flashing bodies? :P ;)

Getting back on topic...

I can definitely identify with the dancing "alter ego". I find that when I go dancing I feel much better and am so much happier. I put forth an interesting image of myself that when I'm not dancing isn't necessarily the reality. I'm actually quite shy in some aspects, except when I'm on the dancefloor or on a stage. Quite interesting really.

I hear what you guys are saying, and I must agree that quite a few years ago I used to have a separate salsa persona as well.

I also have a salsera alter ego, which my non-salsa friends and colleagues probably wouldn't even recognise. It's almost like Jekyll and Hyde, day and night -- my salsa friends think I'm a fun-loving extrovert, while others see me as a quiet and serious person. The truth I think is that I'm really a bit of both, just not showing both sides at the same time...
