Are you dancing the one with; the hip twist to walks around the man, spot turn to walks around the man w/ spot turn ending, or hip twist and 3 spirals around the man?

okay...in my goofy language; alemana, cha-cha spiral, walk walk , ccc, walk walk, ccc, something like a hip twist, to a CBL....

Ah...my #2. At the risk of being over-simplistic, try dancing it as if it were a big alemana (triangle) around the guy (instead of a circle). This will place you properly at the end of each segment.

thanks AH...I don't have a guy handy very often so it is important that I be able to do this on my own

Hi fasc! Are you trying to use curving walks around the lead, or are you using a more swiveling action to complete the "corners" of the triangle?

It's been awhile since I've done rope spins, but I recall using a smooth swivel on the right foot after the spiral (which you should end up pretty much on his side by) to make the first corner of the triangle, and another smooth swivel on the right foot after the lock to make the second corner. I don't make the full amount of turn on the swivel, but more than the rest of the curving steps.

The swivels allow me to make a greater turn, but I disguise the sharpness of the turn by smoothing it out somewhat (still traveling on a curve).

Can't claim to be an expert on this one though....

This sounds a little scary. That is all.
