I'd be pretty surprised if they weren't Savoy Lindy Hoppers Leon James and Al Minns, as the title says :-)

  I lose it sometimes. Anyway, is that lindy what they are doing? Doesn't look anything like that to me. :?

No, it's definitely not Lindy.

They're not doing Lindy, but a lot of jazz steps. But since Lindy has borrowed stuff from most of the other jazz dances of the time, some of the stuff they're doing is part of the basic Lindy repertoire. Most of the stuff I don't know. Probably more or less improvised.

It seems like they're doing a couple of moves from the Shim Sham routine, which I think is originally a tap routine, I think I see some Fall of the log in there and some Shorty George looking thing.

I may be wrong, but I believe the Trankydoo (what the file is called) is a jazz/tap routine similar to Big Apple or the Shim Sham.

The Tranky Doo (Original Chereography) as broken down by Mike Faltesek

The song the Tranky Doo was originally done to was "Tuxedo Junction" by Erskine Hawkins.

A clip (although cut in several places) of Al and Leon doing the Tranky Doo is here (he points to the same clip referenced above)
