well, last friday my school held the spring dance concert. i wasn't performing in it but since i'm on dance company, i had to go and help out. i was helping out with tickets and all that good stuff when my dance teacher runs up to me, out of breath, in desperate need of my help. i ask what's wrong and she says that the lead belly-dancer in the arabian-style dance she choreographed for after intermission just sprained her ankle. well, i'm the next person who knows how to belly-dance so she asked me if i would be a life-saver and take the role. i was incredibly hesitant because i had just hurt my leg the day before and i knew none of the moves from the dance. she assured me that i wouldn't have to do much and it woud basically be freestyling on my part. so, i told her i'd do it. the next half an hour was a frantic blaze... she had to get my make-up on, my costume on, my hair done right, and everything. well, when i got on stage, not knowing any moves, i was surprised to see that i dazzled the audience. (not trying to brag but i'm pretty proud, lol) i freestyled belly-dancing for the whole five minutes of the song and everyone was pretty amazed. i even got some flowers :D

anyways, just wanted to share since i'm proud of myself, hehe

That's great! :D You have every right to be proud. A lot of people would have frozen, under similar circumstances. But you got out there and knocked 'em dead. You go! :bouncy:

thanks everyone! i feel so loved :D

belly-dancing isn't hard at all. in fact, it's pretty easy... if you have the patience and coordination, lol. it took a lot of patience to actually learn it cuz it takes absolutly forever to master moves like that... but it's so much fun! you should definitley try and learn it... you'll love it
