I have only been learning Int'l Latin Ballroom, in Privates for 7 months, and Group Salsa for a few months.

I am interested in learning other dances, such as Cuban Salsa, Bachata, ECS, etc. They seem more interesting to me than Standard Ballroom. This wouldn't be detrimental, would it?

heery, as long as you keep up with things and don't start confusing them, no. Lots of people find it easier to just concentrate on one or two at a time, but it all varies by person. And taking notes/videotaping lessons, etc can help you keep track of things.

Cheery,
Anyway, ...detrimental to what?
It's your time and money. If it's what you want to do, then do it. If problems arise, you will figureout what to do.

Sounds like it would be fun. I don't see any detriment to it. Why not go for it!

I learned salsa and bachata at the same time I was learning ecs and hustle and smooth ft, tango and waltz. No confusion for me.

Were those learnt at different studios? WHere I live, the street dances such as Bachata are not taught in my studio but I found another place that teaches them.

I'm just getting comfortable in my studio now, and wondering if I will have to go through all the adjustment and overcoming my shyness in the other studio!
However...yes, I do want to learn more! It just doesn't seem enough anymore.

pros at my other studio taught bachata at one night of Chicago Summer dance, and I know several (maybe all) of pros at my main studio know bachata, and would be happy to teach it if asked.
