Absolutely. My only complaint is that I haven't managed to see them more often (we seem to pick different comps. Though i did get to see them at Wisconsin. :) )

My Pro wants to get coaching from them as they will be in our area in January. Probably Standard. He wants a woman's point of view, thinks that will be helpful.

They are teaching at New Year's Day Ball dance camp and doing a show. It's December 30, 2009 - January 3, 2010 in Orlando, FL.

Awesome results for them! Congrats! I used to see them practice at BOF, sometimes at Tuesday or Thursday nights they even came to dance standard rounds.

I was surprised to see them last night in So You Think You can Dance auditions... does this mean she is not in Vegas?, and will not make it to top 20?

Iveta also got put straight through to Vegas on SYTYCD last night. Heh. I thought I remembered her name from somewhere. ;)

I would guess not, CL.

She's still in Vegas as of the show which aired tonight!

i simply cannot wrap my mind around the possibility that she'd *not* make it to the top 20...

Unless she bombs in the contemporary and broadway rounds... But I'm not getting that vibe from her. She *obviously* made it through hip hop with Nappy Tabs.

She obviously won't have trouble in any ballroom routines. :)

Ya think? Heh. Is it fair, though? ;)

Fairness doesn't matter as long as the injustice is biased towards side we like. :)

Its fair. Different dancers have different strenght styles. Ballroom happens to be hers. There are professional dancers in other styles, like hip hop, modern, ballet. Why is this less fair?

yep...for example, benji...he was no amateur newb, that's for sure! grew up dancing and training probly every bit as much as iveta, just in a different style.
it's gonna be a fun season! looking forward to seeing her crump. LOL

Lacey Schwimmer too. WCS and latin champ and naturally good at everything else. Had never done any smooth ballroom til SYTYCD then a year later was a pro on DWTS. It's just a launching pad to bigger things.

SYTYCD does not require that dancers be amateurs.
The Hauers and Kimalee Piedad also are/were dancing. They made it to Vegas, don't know what happened after that.

Correct, a lot of SYTYCD dancers are working professionals or at least are amateur champions. But the show often downplays it to make it seem like these folks just walked in off the street, unknown. They want to make it look like these dancers were miraculously "discovered".

They're unknown to the typical SYTYCD demographic, and to most of "America". Let's face it, only a handful of dancers ever make it to recognition in the public eye.

Which is why the illusion can work. :)
