i didnt want to hi jack the other thread so i'm gonna make my own. people who compete in foxtrott do you have a hard time not stepping on the 1 beat. i've been dancing foxtrott for a year now and i'm do continuity style. i'm pre paring for nationals and jsut this week it was brought to my attention that i need to step on beat 2. like lower on one and stretch the leg and then land on beat 2. MAN THIS IS HARD LOL. i just got so annoyed today. it really brought my foxtrott together though. i actually felt like foxtrott waltz and tango were drastically different.
another thing with foxtrott i've notced today while practicing, the ladys head postion and just when does she rotate into promenade. my partner was having problems with that. i could really see how the balance is affected if she goes to fast or doesnt kep pulling away in her frame.

It is indeed a challenge. My partner and I have benn working on it for a couple of months now but once you start to get the hang of it, it really does feel much different, and in my opinion, more fluid. In my own experience, I find it easier for me to fall off time when dancing this way. Usually the culprit is that my step on beat 3 isn't quick enough.
