As anyone seen this movie? Just saw it. The story is set within the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago and directed by Robert Altman.

It shows various rehearsals and subsequent performances. It was modern ballet, some of which didn't move me BUT there was a beautiful (IMO) solo, by a female dancer on a swing. When the initial rehearsal was shown, I could conceptualise it/picture it. BUT the performance  it was beautiful! She wore a white dress, the back of the stage was blackened out and everything she did was on the swing. The skirt of the dress really flowed and mama, it was mesmerising  There were a few other performances, with this loose story interwoven with it. For any dance fanatics, I would definitely recommend it :D

Altman? It can't be too bad then.

Personally, I'm waiting for The Day After Tomorrow. You know, when those polar ice caps melt, the next ice age comes galloping after!

Good dancing. Horrible attempt at plot or storytelling. Would have been better as a documentary in my opinion

I think it was meant to be more of a documentary than actual story telling :( (and I fell asleep in the beginning part of it but shhhh   )

For me, there was another lovely scene where the dancers were all dressed in red and I don't remember if the girls were on pointe throughout or went onto pointe when they turned, but they did what looked like the basic salsa On1 step   and then changed partners, as in rueda, and then did the same step again  that was another one of my favourites from the movie :D

GR, saw the trailer for The Day After Tomorrow  it looks amazing (and I still have not seen Independence Day as yet  the special effects look amazing so I might just do your suggestion and go and see it in NY.
