Hey yall,
First time on this board. Just was wondering about this Dance Fever biz..... Is this an all American thing?

Welcome to the forums, Orville!
We look forward to your participation. Hopefully, you can keep us up to date with the Torono Salsa scene. You are welcome to add your website to your signature, but usually posts that are focused on directing the user to another website are reserved for "ads and event announcements" or "websites". This is mainly to set a precedent for all, rather than trying to decide what is acceptable and what is not.

What type of Salsa is most prevalent in Toronto? LA Style? Do people also dance Rueda or NY style? I would assume NY Style is popular too since you are pretty close geographically.

Sorry about that DanceMentor. Didn't mean to rock the boat. In Toronto, We pretty much dance it all..... On1, On2, Rueda..... Toronto has been influenced by all types.... That's the beauty of it all.

No, really, it's not a problem. Hopefully, you'll come to appreciate the Dance Forums. Our main goal is to promote conversation and share valuable information. Your suggestions are always welcome.

BTW, I just realized this is posted in "Articles". I'm moving this to "General Discussion".

I know "peeps" usually refers to People, but I don't know what "peep it" means.

Hey, everybody...it's great to see the way you are welcoming the new people. If we treat people right, a large percentage of those people are sure to get involved and the Dance Forums and we will have a thriving community.

As always, you're suggestions are welcome.

thanks so much everyone! Hey SD, you have to go back. I don't know how long ago you were up in Toronto, but the scene gets better and better.

I was last in Toronto this past April. I was in town for the Can-Am Dancesport Gala (held at Inn on the Park), but was also visiting a good friend of mine up there. And yes, I did go out to one of the salsa clubs while I was there -- actually the exact same one where I first was exposed to salsa.

  DM. I think this must have been the forerunner to the "What da heck" thread

I have seen a video of a performance Orville did with his former partner Ana and  unless I have led a sheltered life  it was one of the most innovative/original routines I ever saw. Orville and Ana basically did 5 or 10 seconds of their routine, then performed it in reverse with the sound effects to make it seem like they were being rewound just like a video cassette   Me likey!

You know, it took me quite a while to realize that the original posts were a YEAR OLD!! I was about to welcome Orville to the forums, when I realized he joined long before I did.

(nice prank Pacion. I think I vote to have Sabor give you a firm spanking instead of the usual off to bed with no supper!)

At the Vancouver Salsa Congress, they did something, IMHO, even more impressive. They were doing their “Matrix” performance when midway thru, the CD started to skip and the music went haywire. Orville played thru the skip, and picked up his routine from where the music started again.

In other words, cut out a minute of your routine, and then pick it up at some random point later on in the song. Wow! Impressive.

It was fun watching him social dance, too. And like a lot of instructors & performers, I liked his open dancing even more than his performance.

Suggestion... maybe you should have an archive of your posts. Any posts over a month old (or maybe two weeks without responses) goes into the locked vault. One of my other bb's has been doing that to prevent people from reviving threads in a very annoying, annoying way. Also I suppose you should archive by title (alphabetically) rather than by date.

Any important threads though you should probably have stickied. You guys do that already anyway, but still...

 TJ! It wasn't a prank! It was a genuine revival of a thread started by Orville and look, it even gave YOU an opportunity to share your experience of one of his performances  PS. Please try to resist tempation and not reveal so many of the secrets from my past  I am trying to convey a more, ehem, circumspect, nunlike, ROTFL respectable image here.  SD has already laughed at my suggestion that I am shy

etchuck? No comprende :?

I was just teasing Pacion about the date of the original posts. Every once in a while, I'll revive old threads, too. I find it kind of nice to get new people's perspectives on old questions. Hmm. I'm not sure how others feel about this. :? Please PM me if you have a suggestions on how I can improve the way I've been doing things ... :)
