ladies like a man who dances because...

Hi all,

I have recently entered the wonderful world of ballroom dancing and will be entering a competition at the end of this month!

Social dancing has also been stressed for all the reasons (learning to deal with traffic, learning to lead, etc.)

My pen pal has said to me that "The ladies love a man who loves to dance."

I was curious in the ladies' comments on that. I certainly am seeing lots of smiles and interest from the ladies I have danced with.

I can't decide if it is just the dancing or seeing me dance with my VERY talented professional instructor.

For me a relationship is partially about sharing interests. As dancing is my biggest interest, I would love to have a man in my life who will at least try to dance. If he doesn't want to get full on into it like I am, that's fine, but to argue with someone over something you love to do does not bode well for the relationship.

Yup.

Now I can't imagine having a sweetie pie who didn't get as thrilled as I do from dancing. Or like you said at least sharing the interest.

I have seen a couple dancing that looked SO lovely together. I thought they had something very special. They only danced with each other as far as I could tell. I thought he was a lucky guy.

I agree with the sharing of interests part. Even if it's not romantic, friendships can often develop just based on the love of dancing. I had a friend (more of an acquaintance) who I rarely spoke to, and when we talked we had very little to say to each other. But when I joined my school's ballroom dance team, I found out he was also in it. Since I didn't know anyone else there, I started dancing with him, and our friendship really grew from there. This was a guy I had known for 3 years, but it wasn't until we both found dancing that we became more than acquaintances.

I am very very happy that my fiance also likes to dance. He's just starting out, but I think it will be wonderful once we can really dance well together. I do think that dancing is strengthening our relationship even more and I absolutely LOVE the fact that he loves to dance!
