I read in the latest DanceBeat newspaper about the "Stars of Tomorrow".
The local PBS station filmed the event held in Marriott Hotel, San Jose,CA. They produced a documentary featuring some competing couples. The mission was to bring ballroom dance or dancesport to public schools. 4 states are covered with florida, oklahoma, arizona and california on the list. The WDF (world dance art foundation) is sponsoring dance camps featuring some professionals. Apparently they are also funding competitions, at no charge to the young people. The plan is to make this event a series, one comp for the midwest and another for east coast.

Have any of you heard of this ? We have quite a few DFers from florida don't we ? Not to forget CA ? Has anyone seen this documentary ?

I haven't seen the documentary yet, although I'll keep an eye open for it. I have seen their work first hand, though. They sponsored a ballroom camp here in Orlando last June with free tuition for youth. They also sponsor ballroom competitions several times a year, with thirty free entries for youth competitors. And cuter youth competitors you've never seen, I bet. :D

Oh yeah, and did I mention that they're very nice people? Good business people, and very nice. 8)
