Until Christmas!!!
I don't know where the time has gone  I talking with my boss today and he mentioned something trying to raise the moral of the team and I pipped up with "Christmas lunch in New York"
What is great is that he has a good memory and having the team dinner in New York was mentioned in jest  so, I was able to play on that this afternoon  but it also made me realise that I have almost six months to do some of the stuff that I wanted to do this year

This reminds me of New Year's Dance Goals (http://www.dance-forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=1469&highlight=resolutions) in the general dance forum, resolutions (http://www.dance-forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=1861&highlight=resolutions) in the swing forum, and Salsa New Year Resolutions (http://www.dance-forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=1389&highlight=resolutions) in the salsa forum. Any updates from those who have posted, modifications to goals, or contributions from those who have joined but haven't had the opportunity to post their gaols?

Thanks for the reminder, Sagitta.
And, just for those of you who buy toys for kids, don't even think of buying year-end holiday gifts until at least October. Anything you buy now will be passe by then. Trust me. I have eleven nieces and nephews, plus I do volunteer work with a bunch of kids. Just save your money and wait.

Good point. I think I'll pull out my Temptations "Give Love at Christmas" and my "Now That's What I Call Christmas" CD's. It's never too early to get started!

I don't know how you guys do it!! Seriously! I hold off X'mas songs until the last possible moment as I hear Christmas tunes after Thanskiving all the way to Christmas. And the same bland tunes. Turns me off, way offf!!! :headwall:

Sagitta, did I see you write somewhere that you loved "Grandma Got Runover By A Reindeer"? I have like ten versions of that one. Should I send you a CD with all of them. LOL. I'm only kidding my friend.. :) 8)

I'm one better on you guys. Every year I go to the sales after christmas, with my head brimming with decorating ideas based on what I've seen around and the inspiration of the season just past. I then get most of what I want starting at 50% off!!! Do 1/2 of all my shopping that way. Of course you cannot get everything that you want using this strategy so you do have to buy stuff in season, but it is a successful means of keeping costs down while indulging yourself.

Oh yeah, I do that too. The past two years have been great. The economy was so bad that the clearance shelves were chock full of good stuff. :D I just like going to the Christmas store. It smells good. Besides, there are always one or two beautiful new ornaments that I don't mind paying full price for.
Until Christmas!!!
I don't know where the time has gone
Hallmark will have their Christmas ornament display out soon.
Bath & Body Works is having their semi-annual sale right now. They've got a lot of nice specials for those early Christmas shoppers.

Squirrel I think there might be a mini type congress/festival in Prague later this year. Keep your eyes open for events in your part of the world, you never know. Maybe you might be able to volunteer?

I foxtrotted to "Winter Wonderland" by Amy Grant just last night. I live in the land where they start celebrating Christmas in September - 100 days before Christmas. There are trees up, decor in the stores and carols on muzak, lights on people's houses, it's full tilt. Ugh. Last year I totally overloaded on Christmas. So far this year I've already finished my shopping for our families and it's already been sent. This is too much Christmas too soon for me. LOL

I'm actually looking forward to a repeat of the holiday dance I attended last year where they played danceable holiday music! I hope they still do this despite not having a Halloween event this year.

It's been out all this month here  -- they seem to bring it out at the same time as halloween stuff these days. Simply crazy
As far as I'm concerned, Christmas is cancelled this year :? -- I'm spending the money to go to the Geneva Congress instead. I will spend Christmas Day and Boxing Day like ordinary days off, go dancing on Boxing Day night and fly down to Heathrow for the MamboCity event on the 27th.
Still, I'd better start buying things for my annual Christmas parcel to my mum & dad... I want to post it before the end of November.
I didn't read this whole thread, so sorry if I'm making a travishamockery of myself.
There is a christmas ornament store (a rather large one at that) near Detroit that stays open all year long. It is realllly busy as you get closer to christmas.

There's one near me, as well, Bob. It's opened most of the year -- July through about February.
