NATIONAL DANCE FINALS!"
What: On Wed, July 23, The "Smooth Moves" East and West Coast winning
couples will go toe-to-toe against each other at the first ever
"Vaseline Intensive Care Smooth Moves National Dance Finals" held
at Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing. The competition is
free to spectators.
"Vaseline Intensive Care Smooth Moves" National Dance Competition
presents a new twist on competitive dance -- couples are being
judged on dancing talents, as well as a dancer's most important
accessory - their healthy-looking skin!
The East Coast qualifying round took place at Lincoln Center's
Midsummer Night Swing on July 9, 2003 in New York City. The
winning swing dance couple is Christian Perry and Annette Nicole.
The West Coast qualifying round took place at the West Coast Salsa
Festival in Los Angeles on May 24, 2003 in Los Angeles. The
winning salsa dance couple is Alex Da Silva and Monica Flores.
On July 23, both couples (East vs. West) will have the chance to
compete against each other for a cash prize of $7,500.
The competition judges are celebrity ballroom dance champions and
winners of more than 100 first place dance titles, Tony Meredith
and Melanie LaPatin; Los Angeles celebrity dermatologist Dr.
Helene Rosenzwieg; and Editor-in-Chief of Latin Beat magazine Rudy
Mangual.
