 Not me!!! tj. So, shall we help him to pack? What should he take/not take? Just let your imagination run free. Whether he actually has said item in his possession, is immaterial
Hope the packing is going well tj. :D

Lol, thanks Pacion!
Moving can be a cleansing time, too. I'm in the process of selling, donating, and dumping various items that I've had for far too many years.
Finished as of 4PM today!
Closed out the storage unit. Checked out of the apartment. Only one complication - no sign of the driver who was supposed to pick up my car (for shipping).
Paying for staying out late dancing last night - was out til 2AM. Still had to pack a couple of things when I got home. Went to bed around 3:30AM & had to meet the movers at 8AM! Yikes! I need a nap, but I'm supposed to go to a "going-away barbecue" at 7PM, and then dancing afterwards.
Guess I'll just surf DF instead!

Hmmm, so you are not driving it to NJ?

 You didn't pack the computer as yet?

Perhaps he has a laptop? That's one thing that I need to do...cleanse myself of my immaterial possesions so that I'm relatively portable. As things now stand I have too much stuff.
Good time to get rid of all those clothes and other things that you never use tj. So how many truckloads of stuff did you have?

Just make sure you don't let the movers leave your new place until you've checked off every box. Things get lost sometime.

They wouldn't happen to be a shade of green now would they
Seriously though, hope all goes well with the move. Looking forward to dancing On2 with you - with Boriken's guidance, I am sure you will be fine

I grew up in northern, NJ. Whereabouts will you be, TJ? And have you planned out your dance life?

Nope. Time was the more important factor, so I had it shipped. The driver *finally* called me at 7:30PM on Friday evening, and I was able to have him load my car. Should be here later this week. The drive time from Seattle to NJ was about 40 hours. Would've taken me at least 4 days. And I didn't have that amount of time available.

I packed it late, but I was surfing the 'Net from the Library.
My current 'Net access is very limited (my parents' place). But I've figured out where the local library is.

Well, I managed to "inherit" an old laptop. Do you know much about these things? Is getting WiFi to work as simple as going out and getting the PCMCIA WiFi card?

More than 5000#. I used to own a house in Denver before I moved to Seattle. I've been getting rid of a little here and there, but need to dump more than that and at a quicker pace!

Lol! No, but I've recently thrown out a pair that had a hole in them.

Everything went ok.
One word of caution to anyone thinking about flying out of Seattle (SeaTac) airport on a Saturday morning in the summertime. The cruise ships all let out their returning passengers at the same time in the late morning. The airport was flooded with like 6000 vacationers who jammed up the airport. I arrived 2 hours in advance and just barely made it to my plane on time.

I grew up in Basking Ridge, NJ, and will be living/working in Parsippany.
Looks like Mike Bello, the Mambo Fellow, is teaching in Hoboken, which isn't that far away. He suggests that experienced On1 dancers take his beginner On2, so looks like Monday's the night for me. (Missed tonight, however).

Good point, but honestly, unless it was my TV or my computer, I'm likely to not notice! (or more importantly, not miss it!)

 So I guess Seattle isn't next door to NJ then

It depend on how old the laptop is and what sort of operating system it has. If you are talking of something like IBM thinkpad 380D there might be issues such as getting a card to fit into the slot (cards are shaped differently now!!), and those sorts of machine usually have older operating systems for which certain cards may not be compatible with.

Actually, it's a good hour+ ride from Parsippany to Hobken (that's if you are pushing the pedal to the metal!). But, I'll keep that in mind the next time I'm in NJ. I used to work on Washington Street in Hoboken, many years ago!

Similar to how London's not next to Moscow.

Dell Optima 8000 w/Windows ME. I'll make a trip to a local computer store over the weekend and ask. (Did it - all it took to get Ethernet working was to buy the PC Card. Will work on WiFi next)
(And about losing things...)
Yes, I'd miss my music, but I've got soft copies in my computer and my MP3 player, as well as the original CD's. I've already brought my MP3 player with me, so I'd only lose a few albums at worst.

Also, Jai and Candy (thanks Pacion) aren't too far away either. I may go check out their Saturday lesson.
Just found out that one can do a change of address entirely online.
Costs $1 but well worth it, IMHO.
