This is certainly a combo we have studied countless times. So we have CBMP on the feather finish, and we are dancing a toe-heel, going through neutral and continuing into the 3 step. What could possibly go wrong?

One little trick a teacher did with us recently was have us put our arms straight out to the side, and only make contact through the body, and then dance the feather finish and 3 step. It helped us to better visualize and coordinate the CBMP and the transition of the CBM into the 3 step.

I know I'm not a lady, but this topic interested me.
(may have to start a "no men allowed" section on DF?) :)

lolz...DM, I think the owner of the site may do as he pleases...other men can chime in as well...i would just prefer it if the thread doesn't end up having 4 men debating how the lady should execute this move...I am more interested in things the ladies have experienced as beneficial to them in the course of working that pattern...but I won't have a spasm if a guy chimes in

I find that lots of bum swing in contrast with an opposite pull of my head while keeping my boobs on him is the key :)

hmmm...I think perhaps you have nailed it...I tend to avoid that last part.... :)

I second everything that Larinda said. What also helps me is to make sure I stay well in front of his right side, which requires a bigger movement than his as the feather finish rotates since I'm on the outside of the turn. I also make sure to keep my moving leg timed with his, which helps keep my weight forward to him. One of the major keys for me in the 3 step is really separating my legs in the 2nd step, having that step feel almost more side than back -- while keeping my boobs on him of course. ;)

Skwiggy nailed it for me. The second step I really have to concentrate on "crossing" the leg rather than going back. For me, if I really think about it crossing, then the movement is just the right amount. I love the visual Larinad and will try it tonight at practice.

Our coach says you will feel as though you are lying on the guy for 3 step. I am in the process of undoing a tendency to do the wrong thing with my head as well, so I third Larinda's description.

Are there any male dancers who are not going to like this step?

I've met a few that wouldn't find it particularly interesting. And I've met a few women that would probably enjoy leading it. :)
