View Full Version : Congratulations to the Detriot Pistons!
Congratulations to the Detriot Pistons! They beat the Los Angeles Lakers 100 to 85 in Game 5 of the series, to win their first NBA title in 15 years. Motown is now Titletown! :D

Oh, btw, what the heck happened to the Lakers? They used to be unstoppable. Not anymore, apparently. :? :(

I am sooooo glad the Lakers lost!!!!! Yay. Can't stand those cocky bastards.

Me, too.
I never like Shaq.
Ditto for The Glove.
I think Kobe's most likely going to jail.
I also think The Mailman should have retired, already.
And, I think the Zen Master should have stayed retired.

It would have been nice to see Karl Malone be part of a championship, but Larry Brown winning doesn't disappoint me either.

Hey. I wasn't rooting for LA. Can't stand 'em, myself. Too arrogant. Plus, Shaq deserted Orlando for the stinkin money, leading to Orlando's unnecessarily early downfall. I like my sports teams with some humility and underdog appeal. 8)
I was just noting that LA used to be THE franchise to be reckoned with. Anybody have theories about what happened.

Sorry. It IS a really American thing. They're a basketball team, as are the Lakers.

Basket ball??? Oh come on ...they aren't, are they?
You mean the Detroit Pistons are not parts of a car made in Detroit? ;)
Ok...I did here a rumor that they are really a formation dance team...top notch, too!
And the Lakers...aren't they those guys who work in boats on the Great Lakes? ;)

Silly! 8)
There is a basketball league in Europe, right? It's just not all that popular, by comparison, I think. Must google.
And, DancePoet, there was a hilarious commentary on NPR a couple months ago -- talking about team mascots. What a hoot. I'll have to see if I can find it. The sports commentator on NPR is a hoot! Daniel Deford, I think? I'll check. 8)

Me, silly??? No way!
Well...ok, when it's late and I'm tired, I do have my moments. :)
Sigh. I miss the old Chicago Bulls. :(
Hey, I read that Dennis Rodman is going to try to make a comeback, at age 43. That's got to be a record (or close to it) if he makes it for oldest player in the NBA.

He already holds the title for the weirdest (okay, most eccentric, in politically corrent speak) , at least in my book. What's with the multi-color hair phase he went through? :?

Yeah, but without the Lakers moving all those boats up on the Great Lakes, imagine how the economy in the North Central Region might be effected! It would be as bad if there weren't car parts like Pistons being made in Detroit! ;)
(Ok, ok, ... I'm being silly again. Can't help myself.)
