I think the main reason no one has answered your question is that we really don't know!

Dance Forums is inhabited primarily by people who do partner dances such as competitive ballroom, social ballroom, swing, tango, etc. There is a sister site for non-partner dances (I'm not sure of the name) where you might find someone to answer your question.

Lol, you're funny! Me neither, my last teacher even tried to TEACH me that but I just don't have the native talent for it, I suppose... :cool:

I found a great website (http://www.thehousedanceproject.com/) that has a lot of videos and info on house dance. House dance draws from many different sources. It doesn't look like tap to me, although now that I think about it, I guess house could sort of look like a cross between hip-hop and tap sometimes, depending on the styling.
