I feel the need to share with you guys the fantastic lesson I had last night. :D

I had an exchange private lesson with the owner of the studio. Everyone (including my instructor) was building it up to be some really privileged thing, but I treat everyone the same from CEOs to mail sorters, so I got to the studio looking forward to the lesson, but not nervous about it. 8)

He asked me what I would like to work on and I immediately said "smooth technique" to which my instructor gave me a wry smile as if to say "oh boy are you going to get it!". We worked extensively on mainly Foxtrot, extensions, weight settling, rise and fall, partner connection in closed position, you know all the good stuff! We did a bit in Waltz as well, he basically broke down the technique further than I was aware of and now I have plenty to work on before my next private lesson on Monday night.

Best lesson I have ever had (not taking anything away from my instructor, but this guy is his boss).

And the telling part of a great lesson is that my butt muscles are killing me today!!

The butt muscles tell it all! That means you've really been working from your legs and probably with good work on compression and swing! 8)

I can feel it GR, every movement I make today seems to involve my butt in one way or another!

We have a social party tonight and I bet anything the first Foxtrot that comes on my instructor will grab me to find out how much I picked up and retained!

Way to go dancing feet!

I had the best lesson I have had in awhile the other day with my instructor. I set it up to get a better handle on the Check Promenade for Tango. Then from there we worked on basic motion in the basic tango pattern and how this can be translated into other Tango patterns. Then we shifted over to Foxtrot and worked on the swings that are created in the twinkle patterns. Followed this up with basic motion in the Foxtrot basic, too! Really neat stuff! And then we worked on foot and torso placement for the Reverse Turn With Outside Swivel in Tango.

A very enjoyable and useful lesson!

GReat dancin_feet!

And even though this is a ballroom thread I feel like doing a little ursurping...

I really enjoyed my first AT practica. I knew quite a few people, met some others, everyone was very friendly... I felt happier vibes here then what I usually get from the swing or ballroom crowd. I'm not sure what it is but I'm losing myself to AT!!

Lose yourself Sagitta! I love AT, but can't afford to do it as much as I would like. Well worth it! :D
