Salsa Clubs in Vancouver, BC

What would recommend as good salsa places ?
Are there any specialized and cheap Salsa CDs shops overthere ?

If you're looking for a great live band (boy they are great!) and a cool club atmosphere, Friday nights at Mesa Luna is the way to go. If you're looking for great dancing, almost all of the good dancers go to the Polish Hall (Friday nights). Saturday nights, I'd say the Hot Jazz Club - great music, great dancing, the works. Monday nights at Crush...I've never been but I've heard it's out of this world, and is the best salsa night in Vancouver.

I don't live in Van but many of my friends do and I've been there a few times. Have Fun!

I went to Vancouver earlier this year on a business trip, and while I was there, I looked for some places to dance Salsa. I tried to use the info in this thread, but it was badly outdated.

I only managed to go out to one spot, given my schedule, but it was fantastic! The place was called the Atlantis Club. Here's their website site: http://www.atlantisclub.net/ Tuesday is the night to go. This place had it all: great music, reasonable cover charge, relatively huge dancefloor, great dancers (but all levels present), hotties all over the place, group salsa class to begin the evening, smoke-free... Wow, if I lived in Vancouver, I would be there EVERY Tuesday! I live in Calgary, so my experience with Salseros in limited, but this is the best Salsa spot I've ever been to.

I don't believe Crush even exists anymore, so that was out.

I couldn't find the Hot Jazz Club either. Does anyone have an address for them, or know if they have Salsa nights anymore?

Also, everyone I talked to in the Salsa scene said that Friday night's at the Polish Hall was the place to be. Unfortunately, I flight left town on Friday evening, so I missed that one too, but I hear it's great but crowded.

Anyway, hope that's of help to someone.

This thread was started about a year and half ago, so s/he probably doesn't need to PM anyone ;) I just thought I'd update the info, in case anyone else was looking for info about Salsa in Vancouver (like i was).
