I was shown a jive step (and a similar step in samba) - pivots, a few times, but I have no idea what the syllabus name of this step is (I need to know if it is silver, gold, or if it is not allowed in syllabus). Does anyone know the step I'm talking about and it's name? The teachers who shown it to me called it "pivots", in both jive and samba, but I didn't find anything like that in syllabus. maybe it is a variation of something?

Description: right hand goes around partner's waste, step to the side while turning at the same time, a few times.

Pivots. In any dance from Waltz to Jive to probabaly even Mergengue.

If you want to be specific you could specify natural or reverse. Probably the former.

It's probably not syllabus in most dances - though I can't say for certain, especially in the latin family.
