I was shocked this morning when squirrel mentioned that dancing in Romania is bad for salsa on Saturday nights. Where I'm from, Saturday night is a BIG dancing night, pretty much regardless of genre... Well, maybe except swing.
How about you. Is there a best night for dancing, where you're from? And is it different for different dances?

uh.... every night is pretty much taken for dancing of some sort on the weekends here. One can swing on Saturday or Sunday nights most weekends, salsa Friday to Sunday night most weekends, and ballroom usually once a week on Friday or Saturday depending on things. The country bar's always open for dancing, but the best night for lindy at that bar is Wed night, shag is Thursday, WCS is Fri. And this is just for the summer. So for me, it just depends on how much you know.

Let's see. Tuesdays is Latin/swing night. Also rueda with advanced group every other week. Sundays folk dance and milongas. Cajun/Zydeco at least once a month is also on Sundays. Thursdays rueda practice sessions, AT practica. This seems to be it. The other days it varies depending on what is going on. Can be action packed and then not. And there are certain dance activities I do not mention as I am not into them at all.

you are all so fortunate...
we don't have too much partner dancing here (not ballroom, which is not for clubs anyway)... house, hip-hop, pop, metal, alternative, R&B... Salsa club (the only in Bucharest!) is opened Thursday (best day), Friday (depends on the mood of the DJ) and Saturday (usually sucks!)... so...

I guess that leaves you more time to practice with your dance partner? :)

EVERY NIGHT!!! :) Seriously, as some of you have suggested, here in Australia, like so many other places, Saturday night is huge (I typically start with ballroom then head to tango and finish the night witha little salsa), but it depends on what style you dance...in theory I could do tango on on Monday, ballroom on Tuesday, Funk on Wednesday, Salsa on Thursday and anything I wanted on Friday and Saturday. Sunday has heaps on as far as tango and salsa is concerned...it depends on the day, the time and your location...of course die-hard dances will dance no matter what the day and whether or not anyone else is dancing!!!

MadamSamba is right......just about every night if you are keen!
I'm a salsa-only (ok, R&B/Latin House too if I'm in the mood) girl, so my options are a bit more limited.
Sundays are generally the best, especially in summer. Otherwise week nights can be better than weekends...as you get les crowd & more serious dancers  !

Some say Thursday nights are the best both in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Some say Monday nights are also good in Edinburgh. I've no way of knowing. It's no fun being an ERC member... :(

Wednesdays and Fridays are the most important nights for salsa but If you have a partner you could probably go dancing everyday to some of the small places that offer great music but not a lot of people go there.

There's a bad night for dancing?
I actually like dancing Monday through Thursday. The floors are not as crowded!

Yup. If there is dancing that you don't like or a club that you don't. :(
In a year or two there won't ever be a night that is bad for dancing. I just need a little time to pick up all the dances that I want to do. WCS, then lindy, zydeco, cajun, waltz, foxtrot, American tango, rhumba (Am and intl)...

The best night for dancing?
No matter what day of the week, or where you live, the best night for dancing is tonight, this night, right now.
