Not sure about how it is now, but a few years back there was a law (or policy?) here preventing hetero couples to publicly kiss at gay bars  !

During the summer of '99, I was at a gay bar in NYC with a date. I told everybody there the abovemention law/policy & they all thought it was hilarious but not a bad idea  .........!

........then we started dancing. That was when this heavy-set security dude came out to say it's against the law/policy to dance there  !

Hello, everyone! Read this, burst into a fit of giggles, and had to (finally!) post.

I lived in St. Louis, Missouri for a while, and two wacky laws I remember were:
1) It is illegal for a person to wear the clothing of the opposite sex
2) Conjugal intercourse shall take place only in the missonary position

Oop, just remembered one more:
3) It is illegal for a private citizen to discharge a firearm anywhere in the city of St. Louis, except on New Year's Eve (heaven forbid that a bunch of drunken revellers not have the opportunity to shoot off the ol' side-iron before the current year ends!)

Here are some laws that people in Afghanistan had to abide by when it was under Taliban rule:

No music.
No theater.
No TV.
No movies.
No book reading.
No soccer.
No drinking.
No paper bags.
No flying kites.
No photography.
No videos.
No foreigners with Afghan women.
No white socks for females.
No schooling for females.
Men must grow beards at least four fingers long.

In other countries, women are not allowed to drive, leave the house or travel alone or without a male escort, must ride in women-only buses and train carriages, cannot vote and cannot divorce their husbands.
I thank goodness for freedom!!! :D

Hi Kali Ma. Welcome. 8) I'm glad you decided to post. :D

Thanks, Pygmalion!

Er, what? No reading while walking? Don't know how I missed that one...I would have been in maximum security about twenty years now for being a repeat offender!
