If they haven't started already, I imagine that the summer sales will be starting shortly in the US? They will be starting here soon.

Other than shoe sales for the ladies  are there any particular sales that you like/get what you believe are good bargins? Or are sales just a waste of time with lots of agression for no good reason?

I buy at least 1/2 my stuff at sales, so I like them. I don't find them a waste of time as I only go to them looking for specific items. No browsing for me. Then I get things that I don't really need, and I'm trying to de-clutter my life. :) (Don't have the time to browse either.)

 What many people who don't live here all the time don't realize is that every day is marketed as a sale day. Yes, it used to be that there were a couple of big ones--but now sales go on all the time, particularly since the ubiquity of the computer has made everyone's schedules way more flexible.

There are still always sales around holidays, because the stores can be sure that everyone has the day off--and Americans love to shop.

Sales are never a waste of time. Near the middle or end of winter is a good time to buy winter things, just like sales later in the summer are good times to buy summer things. You sometimes have to be careful to make sure what you buy will still be wearable (fashion-wise) the following year. It seems some of the classic styles rarely go on sale.

It always helps if you can shop in the middle of a day in a work week. At these times, there are fewer customers, and I'm guessing that's why you can find sales going on during the days. Far from being a waste of time, it seems to me that sales events are the only times you can really pay a reasonable amount for something. I generally won't buy it unless it's been marked down by 40% or more.

I always keep my eye open for new vests, shirts, slacks, that I can wear to dance!

Since the recession in the early '90's, where stores were literally dumping merchandise into people's hands, I *never* pay full price for anything. Having said that, even paying 50% of the "original price", the stores are still making a profit.

I love sales and have a bad knack for being at the mall way more than I should. I try to buy things I will realistically get a lot of use out of, but I'm not sure my new pink sandals will last me that many years! So, I will probably pay a little more for something classic that I will get many years of use for, and less for things that will only be in style for a year or two.

And GR, I too, try to find danceable clothes as often as possible. My budget can barely support all the wardrobes I need after spending a small fortune on dance lessons and competitions, though.

Sales!!!

Sales are on here in Aus! I nabbed myself a few bargains the other day!
I have this problem you see...if its marked down I cant help buying it rather than letting it slip away!
I got myself a nice new Jag handbag for a tiny $30, Im mighty pleased with that! and 3 tops (perfect for dancing in of course) for a grand total of $23! Got the kids some designer shoes for $80..they were too good to pass up!

Awww now I feel the need to spend :? :?
