I just thought I'd comment that this is an amazingly friendly forum.
People have posted on my posts just to welcome me to the forum.
Wow.
Now I feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Okay, 'nough of that. :friend:

LOL! Sorry. I couldn't help voting for the bear option. It made me crack up laughing. But yes, I find DF to be one of the friendliest places I've been on the web.
Glad you're here, Underfoot. :D

I started as a swing dancer (although I actually started in theater... which led to dance). In fact, when I started swing dancing I had to make myself a fake id to get into the swing clubs. It was crazy, I was 16 and I wasn't going to let a silly thing like age stand between me and the Lindyhop. That and there weren't any good swing clubs that would let a 16 year old dance. Ah well. I also did a little bit of a lot of different ballroom styles, I like to waltz, and I like salsa... I guess I like/d most ballroom styles (I thought that whole bump & grind thing that was called dancing when I was in Highschool was just silly).
I've since broadened my base (I went to Point Park College [now University] for a BFA), so I do some Ballet (badly), some Jazz, and some Tap. Whatever is thrown at me, basically.

I was surfing for ballroom shoes yesterday and on one site, i think showtimedanceshoes i clicked on the dance news and guess where i ended up - right here at DF. The word is really spreading about the forums...definitely one of the best sites i have found on the web. I have checked out the other dance discussion sites, but people get flamed for posting their opinion and what not else....

Hey! Whoever's feeling left out? Please PM me, so I can help address it, whatever it is. We want this to be a fun place for every single DF member. If you're not having fun and/or not feeling welcomed, I want to help. Just let me know if I can. :? :)

The only time I feel left out here is when I can't get online to see what has been going on!!
This is definitely a place where I can freely express my love of dance without getting the rolling eyes  and the exasperated looks of "not dancing, AGAIN!" from some of my friends. If anything it relieves some of the enthusiasm I have so that I don't talk constantly about dancing to people who aren't interested.

Me too!
I hate when I talk to people about dancing and they say "huh?" and I have to explain that turning out of a fan to early can be saved if you whip around and do a quick lock
I love this place, I cant imagine anyone feeling left out though... we are just too friendly here!

Underfoot, I went to Point Park College. Only for 2 years though, didn't finish my degree. I didn't realize they're a university now. What years were you there?

Currently they have this huge 8x10 (foot) picture of me in the entrance dressed up as an old man. Its so embarrassing :|
There is a Yahoo group that contains nothing but PPC alumni. Its called "TheCallboard". If you're looking to re-connect with old PPC friends, it might help. Check it out: TheCallboard (http://groups.yahoo.com/search?query=TheCallboard)
