What are your fond technological memories that seem or are outdated?

I remember Gestetner stencilling machines and typewriters with ribbons  you would insert a stencil, type what ever you wanted to type, attach the stencil to the Gestetner and manually turn a lever to generate the copies you wanted

Oh yes. Even at the age of, what ever age I was at the time  the stencilling machines seemed so much easier to troubleshoot than the photocopier which seems to have more doors to open/levers to push or pull Here than I do at home

The modern digital/virtual approaches to technology are amazingly powerful in terms of what you can accomplish in a short period of time, but they are missing some of the life and 'class' of traditonal machinery: big pieces of cast iron, with belts, flywheels, and surfaces scraped almost perfectly flat by the human hand.

And fire. Musn't forget fire.

Sitting in front of a computer is fun.

But heating up a piece of metal in the fire and banging on it with a big hammer until it actually turns into something? There's just no comparison.
