doubt it is oil, it would not evaporate...

Yes, his shoes are wet. The floor was probably slippery and he has suede soled shoes on. If they were leather, he would have fallen straight over!

She dampened her soles for traction. The floor was probably a little bit too slippery.

When you perform it loose the leg in the hip and use inertia of leg for rotation.

Yeah that was kind of funny. At first I thought maybe there was powder on the floor, until I realized she wasn't making any marks, along with his marks evaporating.

Once, before a performance, the lady performer poured water onto the floor and stepped into it to make her shoes wet at the bottom. I happened to be by the side, saw her doing it, but didn't pay attention to avoid the water. I suffered the consequence later. My shoes stuck to the floor while I tried to pivot (my shoes have suede soles).
