 At long last (!) both Yahoo and Hotmail are expanding the amount of space you have for your emails.

I am sure this was prompted by more valid reasons than the size of the emails salsa and I imagine other dance related promoters/organisers send out (or even the number of "different" emails they might send you in one day).

Once upon a time, they were simple text ones. Now they can have lots of colours/images. If you could choose, which would you prefer? "Simple" text and ones with lots of colours/images or, a combination of the two, with the emphasis on keeping it simple?

I want my email to consist of ASCII text with hard line breaks at 72 characters for quoting purposes, and no frickin' MIME attachments! If they want to author flashing 34 point green text and in general demonstrate how little they know about presenting information effectively, they should include a URL pointing to the website disaster in question.

Amen to that, jon. I never have understood why people will take a perfectly good email and add a piece of clip art, which causes all sorts of problems with spam filters and virus programs, etc. Why not just send a nicely formatted text file?
