Oh my gosh! I grew up in Philly (which everybody in creation probably already knows.) Dee Dee Sharp (later Gamble as in married to the music producer dude who helped create the Philly sound) was a household name, when I was little.

I just learned how to fix mashed potatoes; great way to do it...

NOT!

But here's a video with Dee Dee Sharp and Chubby Checker...

"The Jet" by Chubby Checker was one that didn't catch on.
He did the dance in a movie that I can't remember the name of right now???

Can't say if the "instructional" one is right or not, but I'd sure go with the link
bailamosdance posted.

Ahh, go go dancers!

I've seen written descriptions of the dance, especially in Butler's Encycopedia of Social Dance, but don't have it here.

Yeah, I know which movie you're talking about; I saw it on TCM about five years ago, but don't recall the name either.

They're just way too cool. My knees don't move like that unless I do my Pilates every day.
