Don't everybody say grinding at once!
Seriously. Is there some dance that, when it comes on, you head for a bathroom or smoke break? If so, why?

Samba, because I just can't do it at all, I suck.

Foxtrot mixers and swing snowballs; never cared for any kind of dancing done at someone's direction.
Samba, Merenque, Bolero - Not that I dislike them; just haven't taken the time to learn them better so I can enjoy them more.
Single time swing, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Tango, Hustle - just not faves of mine.

Any kind of swing like ECS, Lindy Hop, WCS, or Ballroom like Foxtrot, Waltz, etc. I think it's beautiful to watch, I just don't care to do it. I had a teacher who taught it and would do it occasionally at a practice party. She and her partner were awesome but for me, nope. :)

No dance if someone will dance with me. There isn't any dance that I won't do, but there are dances where I don't know the steps and so I cannot do teh expected steps. However, I think I can dance to the music, even if I don't know the steps. :) Does that count? There are some that I don't favour, such as mixers (not enough time with your partner) and line dances (not partner dancing), and of course these include dances like macrena, electric slide...

And I won't do line dancing except that I did do a little Macarena.

Of the ones that I CAN do, probably not. Of the ones that I cannot do but want to do, I guess it depends.
And quite frankly I wouldn't mind doing more grinding, but it would have to be the right partner. ;)
line dancing. i have always maintained that asians should not line dance! :P
i would also say 2-step & cowboy cha-cha but for the right woman i'd probably at least consider it...
I'd had to say east coast swing and/or jive. To do it right, it's too much like work during a practice party.
That's not to say I won't do those dances. However, I'll wait for one of dances to start to take a break. :D
Slow dancing. Some of the dance parties I go to play a few modern songs every now and then during the evening and sometimes there'll be a slow. I feel really uncomfortable and silly dancing like that with a guy I hardly know. I guess I just prefer dances that have real steps to them :?

   Where is the start of the queue?
Lily, I don't mind slow songs, as long as our feet are travelling rather than just our hips alone. On previous threads, I have referred to this 'form' as 'rent-a-tile'. As the name suggests, the floor space covered by the dancers' feet is = to size of a tile  I know, I know, some tiles are larger than others but the normal floor tile size is, well, small?
I will do just about anything, apart from the jumping in the air and headbutting the air (or a wall as they used to do in some parties  ). That does not get my blood going, at all. :?

I'm with Sagitta on one hand...there's no dance I wouldn't at least give a try, especially if someone asks, but SpitFire has a point too...the Macarena is just too corny!

Thanks for reminding me. One dance I really don't feel crazy doing.

They play Achy Breaky Heart for Evening 3 Step at my studio
As for the question.... Merengue :headwall: Hate it. But I guess most of you know that
I have to admit though that progressive merengue isnt too bad, but Id still prefer not to dance it if I can get away from my partner before he asks!
