I need a favor for anyone who may know. I want to buy dance sneakers to teach class but almost all of the shoes have rubber soul and I can't show pirouettes I always twist my ankles. does anyone know if it is any kind of dance sneakers with some sort of soul that allow you to turn?
Hi I am male size 11.5 in regular sneakers.

Hi Sunpacy, welcome to DF!:)
Most of the dance sneaker brands do have rubber type soles, but they have 'spin spots' on the ball to allow spins and turns. They normally have split soles as well, to allow flexing of the foot. Bloch, Supadance and Capezio are all well known for their dance sneakers.
I have a Bloch pair that would certainly have been good enough for teaching, although I prefer my suede-soled latin sandals for maximum mobility.
If you really feel the need for suede you might be better off with a jazz shoe? Or a ballroom/latin shoe? Depending on the style you teach, obviously.
Also, you might find it helpful to look in the Sticky 'Shoe Index' thread, and follow the link to 'Practise Shoes'.

The Bloch Amalgam has 3 different materials in the front part of the sole. The one in the middle is really fast, and good for spins. Try it out.

A friend of mine had her dance sneakers sueded. Seems to do just fine. Any good shoe repair or leatherworks place should have info on how to do this (or may do it for you).

I really dislike my Capezios. Just a data point...
Dancestore dot_com has Aris Allen dance sneakers with a suede sole. I have a pair and really like them.

I LOVE my Sansha "Dynamo" sneakers. They don't have a suede sole, but whatever the material is, it does pivot on most floors, and the occasional sticky floor can be overcome with a touch of powder. I also like the fact that the soles aren't bulky. I don't know if the dynamo model is still available. They used to make a suede sole cover for the toe 1/2 of the shoe, but I was never ever to get them for my shoe size.

I need to get a pair myself too. Don't know which to choose though. I'll be using it to do Latin and perhaps some ballet. Will be a plus if it's not too bulky-looking.

Just got a pair of men's Diamant sneakers (124-225-159) from Carmen's. They do not have the super-high arch like Capezio sneakers. I'll post how they work out.
